If We don’t act NOW
Jennifer Britt will be evicted from her Rosedale Park home
by Fannie Mae & Flagstar Bank anytime after July 4
Taxpayers bailed out Flagstar and the feds took over Fannie Mae in 2008. They were “too big to fail,” but now they invoke “market discipline” to justify evicting Jennifer Britt’s family.
Emergency Meeting to Defend Jennifer Britt’s Home
We’re down to the wire in the campaign to keep Jennifer Britt in her home. She is currently in negotiations with a non-profit community organization which may be able to purchase the home at a reduced price from Fannie Mae (which holds title after buying the mortgage at full value from Flagstar) and then sell the home back to Jennifer on favorable terms. But Fannie Mae could move to evict Jennifer and her family as early as this week. Come to an emergency meeting this Tuesday, July 3, at 5pm for an update and a discussion of next steps. Jennifer Britt lives in her Detroit home of thirteen years with her son, daughter, mother and uncle. Jennifer and her family are facing eviction after Flagstar Bank foreclosed on her. Jennifer has paid over $40,000 to Flagstar over the years, only to face higher and higher monthly payments which eventually took her entire savings. Now that Flagstar has bled her family dry, it’s poised to kick them out of their home.
UPDATE: Her final eviction hearing was Friday June 1, 2012 at the 36th District Court in Detroit. The court has not stopped in proceeding forward with eviction.
